This is my first, weak attempt at a blog.  I really question whether anybody cares what I have to say here, so I would appreciate any comments on the site and its content.  Since I have different interests that probably would appeal to different people, I have set up some categories for my postings:

• Neighborhood Issues.  This is a place for things of interest in the Memorial Villages of Houston and in Hedwig Village in particular.
• Scouts and Outdoors.  I am a Boy Scout leader in Troop 641 and enjoy all sorts of outdoor activities.  My comments about scouting issues, outdoor gear and related issues will be here.
• Politics.  I am involved in the political process and will put my thoughts on political matters (other than village issues that will be in the neighborhood section) here.
• Amateur Radio.  One of my hobbies is amateur radio.  I am a general class operator, call sign KA5YYD.  I will put ham radio related postings here.
• Jeep.  In June, 2009, I bought a 2006 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon.  This will be the place for Jeep related discussion.
